PA Polyamide side guides

The wide variety of polyamides make possible, depends on the application, selection of plastic with definite technical proprieties. It makes possible to avoid the later costs connected with correction and repair of used elements. Preferable areas of applications are: construction of machines, building of vehicles, clutches and transmissions, textile, packing and paper machines, building and agricultural machines.

Polyamides can be processed with the help of machining. By the use of additional improvers, its specific proprieties are obtained. These are: chemical resistance, UV radiation, stability in conditions of burdens thermal etc. The differences between physical properties existing among different types of polyamides depend on composition and structure of their molecular chains mainly.

Proprieties:

  • high mechanical endurance, rigidity and hardness,
  • high elasticity,
  • large dimensional stability in conditions of influence of thermal burden,
  • good sliding proprieties,
  • optimal abrasion resistance,
  • very good electric resistance in non-modified types,
  • high ability of vibration damping and impact strength,
  • high resistance UV, X, gamma radiation,
  • good workability (cutting, turning, milling),
  • good chemical resistance on oils, fats, greases, petrol,
  • low thermal expansion.

Impact strength

Polyamides can be applied in areas with high impact loads without additional protective constructions. This material, dur to very good mechanical properties as well as high abrasion resistance, can be used in construction of machines.

Abrasion resistance

Besides different proprieties, polyamide has high abrasion resistance and becomes ideal material for sliding elements.

Self-lubrication

Modified during polymerization with mineral oil, polyamide guarantees continuous lubrication throughout the whole period of its use. Any additional lubrication is not necessary.

Level of internal stresses

A special polyamide with reduced level of internal tensions is obtained in the casting production process, which allows using this material for dry working parts particularly.

Fields of application

It is used for production of wide range of industrial details both to production of original and exchangeable parts such as: sleeves and slide bearings, shipping screws, fuel filters, hub cups, reservoirs covers, different parts of machines, plugs of electric cables, tension rolls, slide bearing, belt pulleys, cams, hammers, scrapers, sealing and stopper rings, teeth of chain wheels, sprockets, lead screws, fixing pins, ropes, fishing nets, wheels of racing bicycles, cutting and dripping plates and insulators.

MAIN TYPES OF POLYAMIDES

POLYAMIDE PA 6 (natural).

It has good abrasion resistance (especially while co-operating with rough surfaces), impact strength and high ductility also in low temperatures. This extruded material offers the optimum connections of mechanical endurance, stiffness, vibration damping and abrasion resistance. As the most often used type, it is suitable for building mechanical constructions and spare parts production.

POLYAMIDE BYE 6 with addition of MoS2 (black)

This is a constructional material with higher crystal texture and good sliding proprieties in emergency working conditions. The addition of bisulphide of molybdenum raises its abrasion resistance, improves sliding proprieties without reducing impact and fatigue strength.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 G (natural / ivory)

Proprieties of this cast type nylon are similar to PA 66. It has good workability, high ductility and crack resistance. Its processing technology, (polymerization in form) makes it possible to produce large shaped pieces and casts.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 G (black)

This is a heat stabilized cast nylon with high thickness and crystalline. It has very good mechanical properties, high abrasion resistance as well as superb workability which make it an adequate material for the production of bearings and different mechanical parts working in abrasive environment in temperature over 60°C.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 G (green)

This material stands out for its self-lubricating properties. Compared to other polyamides, PA 6 G possesses 50% lower friction coefficient and improved abrasion resistance up to 10 times. It has been especially worked out to special application as manufacturing of non-lubricating moving parts.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 G + oil (grey beige)

Modified by additional stabilizers and mineral oils guarantees perfect sliding proprieties, particularly useful while working without lubrication. Added lubricant assures good sliding proprieties and abrasion resistance throughout the whole operating period.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 (blue)

This modified type of cast polyamide has higher elasticity and fatigue strength than standard PA 6 G. It is a perfect material for gear wheals as well as the racks.

POLYAMIDE PA 6 GF 30 (black)

In comparison with pure PA 66, this reinforced by the mean of glass polyamide has better mechanical endurance and rigidity. It is recommended for high temperature working conditions.

POLYAMIDE PA 66 (natural)

This constructional material has multipurpose use. In comparison with PA 6, it is characterized by larger mechanical endurance, rigidity, thermal and chemical resistance as well as abrasion resistance. PA 66 also has high creep resistance and impact strength, however, its vibration damping is worse. It is suitable for mechanical processing on turning lathes. It can be applied in temperatures up to 100°C.

POLYAMIDE PA 66 GF 30 (black)

In comparison with pure PA 66 this type of polyamide has been reinforced by the addition of 30% of glass fibres. It is characterized by better expansion and compression endurance. It also possesses better mechanical properties and rigidity. Insignificant hygroscopic assures high creep resistance, dimensional stability and abrasion resistance.
